About the Author

Growing up, Lauren Washer-Whitman wrote stories and dreamed of being a published author. Today, she visits schools and teaches kids how to write their own stories. Lauren has a special passion for helping kids deal with challenges. Besides her stories, Lauren writes articles that teach kids how to cook healthy meals and master other necessary life skills. She also researches and writes about people in history who interest her. Lauren is currently working on a biography of Civil War hero, Joshua Chamberlain, an e-zine and a new web adventure.

Lauren Washer-Whitman lives in Maine with her husband, two sons and Sandy, their double-pawed cat.

David Guillemette loves to create art in many styles. When he looks at a project, he starts to picture in his mind how it would look on paper or made of some other material. He has a great imagination. Since David usually works in advertising or photography, illustrating Austin’s Best Idea Ever was great fun for him. His hobbies include rock hounding and mushroom hunting.

David Guillemette lives in Maine with his wife, their two daughters, and a cat or two.
