ENGLISH PIZZA
Makes 2 servings (1 English Muffin each)
A great after-school snack or an easy dinner when you
eat it with a salad!
1/2 cup shredded cheese, part
skim mozzarella or your favorite
1/3 cup spaghetti sauce
2 English muffins, whole-wheat is best
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2.
Split English muffins and lay flat on cookie sheet.
3.
Cover each muffin with pizza sauce.
4.
Sprinkle with cheese.
5.
Bake for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Tip: Diced Bell peppers, onions or
broccoli can be added to the top of these pizzas for a healthy
boost! |
FRESH
HARVEST SALSA
This recipe requires a lot of dicing
with a sharp knife. Be sure to have an adult around to help. You may
also use a food processor to chop the fruit if you prefer.
1 Granny
Smith apple, diced

Cortland apple, diced (any sweet apple will do)

nectarine, diced
5 large
strawberries, diced

Tablespoons vanilla non-fat yogurt
1. Mix chopped ingredients thoroughly.
2. Add yogurt, stir well.
3. Serve on pancakes, cookies or crackers! |
APPLE PANCAKES
Make this tasty recipe on your special holiday morning! Add
a teaspoon of cinnamon if you like that flavor!
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup apple sauce
1 well beaten egg
3/4 cup milk or enough to make the batter as thin as you
like it.

Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add apple sauce, egg, and milk (enough to make the batter as
thin as you like it).
3.
Heat skillet over medium heat, spray with cooking oil spray
4.
Drop by spoonfuls onto greased hot griddle.
5.
Flip when bubbles in the batter start to pop on their own.
6.
Cook until browned.
7.
Serve with jam, syrup or sauce.
NOTE: Don't forget to turn the pan off when done!
